Abstract

Stunting is a short or very short body condition that exceeds -2 SD based on height for age. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between education level, income and parenting pattern on the incidence of stunting in children under five in the working area of the Bajayau Health Center. The research method uses analytical methods with a case control approach. The number of respondents as many as 90 toddlers. The research instruments are questionnaire, microtoise and baby length board with chi-square test. The results of the study obtained that the majority of stunting and normal were 45 respondents (50%), the majority of secondary education were 46 respondents (51.1%), the majority income was less as many as 51 respondents (56.7%), and the majority of parenting patterns were good and sufficient as many as 39 respondents (43.3%). Based on the results of the chi-square test, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the level of education (p = 0.236), Based on the results of the chi-square test, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of education income (p = 0.006) and parenting (p = 0.021) with the incidence of stunting in children under five at the Bajayau Health Center. It is hoped that good knowledge of maternal nutrition for toddlers can provide healthy and nutritious MP-ASI intake for their toddlers. Keywords: knowledge, food intake, toddler stunting
