Abstract

Disease classification is a system that groups similar diseases and procedures into a group of disease code numbers and similar actions. The coding results must reflect the patient's condition and the actions or procedures received by the patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of disease codification in the digestive system based on ICD-10. The type of research used is descriptive research, data collection is done by interview, observation, and check list by examining medical records of patients with diseases of the digestive system. The sample of this study was taken by Simple Random Sampling in the 1st Quarter Period of 2023 as many as 86 medical records of patients with diseases of the digestive system. Overall, the results showed that the procedure for implementing medical record codification was carried out by doctors who were not PMIK personnel and did not have SOPs related to disease codification. The flow of diagnosis codification starts with the doctor filling in or setting a diagnosis then the doctor writes the diagnose and code in the medical record file. the accuracy of the diagnosis code for diseases of the digestive system is 69,77% in the accurate category and 30,32%in the inaccurate category.
